WAYNE COMES OUT ON TOP ON LOW SCORING DAY AT THE VALLEY

This looks more like an advert for Colgate than a Green Jacket presentation.

Eight groups ventured out to Green Valley on what turned out to be perfect golfing conditions with a gentle breeze helping to keep the temperatures down.

Green Valley was the first course the society has played in a while where there was a certain amount of run on the fairways. The greens were very slick and it should be said, a little bit patchy in places. It was the first time in a good few months that the Green Jacket was won with a score that never broke par. Four players were tied on 34 points with Wayne Peppernell heading the list by means of a better back nine over Tommy Marshall, Ian Fraser and Tony Molan.
