FAB FOUR WIN AT TREASURE HILL SCRAMBLE
The Links took 10 groups to their 4th 4 man scramble event on Friday 28th October. Treasure Hill was the venue for the event and it proved to be a huge success on a course that was in great condition. Treasure Hill is probably one of the most difficult courses on our schedule and during a normal Stableford event, it is rarely a score better than par that wins. Of the 10 groups, we had 3 scores in the 60s with the remainder spread between 70 and 73.
Winners of the event were Steve Moxey, Darren See, Bob Watson and Petur Petursson who were playing off a handicap of 5.50. Their gross 65 saw them return with 59.50 which was good enough to secure first place. The difference between 2nd and 3rd place was a very close affair with Livio Marrone, Kevin Trimbill and Ian Fraser, (the only 3 man team to participate), just pipping Wayne Peppernell, Chris Barker, Bryan Barrell and Ron Matthews with a net score of 60.84 as opposed to 60.87.
