Roberts Continues Rich Form

On Wednesday, 9th August the Pattaya Links Golf Society visited St Andrew’s to play a stableford competition in one flight. The field was honoured to welcome back an old friend, Icelandic golfer Kerry Jonsson, whose history with the group goes back eighteen years. Such is the loyalty of the Links golfers.

The course was in fine condition with good fairways and greens, although not much more than medium paced, were consistent throughout. The humidity of the day made for some tired golfers at the end but all had endured an enjoyable day on the 6900 yard course.

The final leaderboard showed Adam Barton, 34 points edging out Len Jones for fourth place on countback, with Bob Watson producing another solid round of 36 points in third place. Alistair Gall’s game held together well for a second place finish on 37 points whilst Maurice Roberts again emphasized his skill with another fine forty point round to take the win. The consolation best nines were won by Len Jones, 21 points on the front nine and Nick Odnoral, 19 on the back.
