Masa Wins First Up At Pattavia

 Pattavia is always a nice course to visit. Check-in was quick and efficient. The Starter/Marshal at the first tee got us away a little earlier than our booked tee time, and with no other players in sight we virtually had the course to ourselves, our lead group only catching up to a three ball at the 17^th hole. The fairways looked a treat and on this day the greens were running faster than on our recent visit, almost back to the treacherous “ keep the ball below the pin” that we know.

Masa Takano is back in town, and in more ways than one. Playing his first game with us on this trip, he took out top place with an impressive 38 points from his lowly 7 handicap.

John Pierrel has been travelling recently, but he is back and also in good form,  so from his 13 handicap was a clear second behind Masa, with a 37 point bag.

Terry Dreier needed to win a countback to grab third place ahead of Barry Elphick, both on 34 points.

Then came the Best Nines..

Best Front Nine ( non winners)….Frank Riley…17 pts

Best Back Nine ( non winners)….Phil McClure…18 pts.

A first time visitor/player, Keith Boxshall wanted to do something different and donated a number of items to be used as prizes. A big Thank You to Keith.

The first one was put to use by having a draw for anyone else who had, as yet, won nothing.

Joy pulled out the winning card, which just happened to be her partner, Phil Davies.

No collusion, just the luck of the draw, Phil collected his prize of a nice white bath towel.

Then onto the photo shoot. Masa saw, and wore the Green Jacket for the first time and thought it to be a terrific idea. Once he knew he would wear it, was even more excited.

Some one has to be last, and to wear the “Wig” , so on this occasion it went to our generous sponsor, Keith Boxshall. A mixed day for Keith.

 The golfer”s meal of Chicken Kiev and Chips ended another great day in Golf Paradise.
