Watson Pars Greenwood

After a couple of quiet games, Bob Watson came out all guns blazing to tear up the course and finish well clear of the rest.
41 points from a handicap 5 is worth writing about.
At the other end of the spectrum, Derek Phillips from handicap 27 put together another good round to finish second with 35 points on a countback over the very good and consistent Adam Barton.
Greenwood was presented in it’s usual very good condition with, of course, the usual dampness around the greens. However the greens did run well, and apart from a couple which had been recently cored, performed to expectations.
It’s a bit longer trip to get there, but a lot quicker than it was when all the roadworks were happening. Well worth that extra time, and currently offering vouchers for 550 bht on weekdays.
A small group of 13 players today, so we went to three places and Best Nines.
