DAVE ROBBO TAMES PHOENIX GOLD

LINKS GOLF SOCIETY…Phoenix Gold Wed. 27th July

DAVE ROBBO TAMES PHOENIX GOLD

Whilst Pattaya was undergoing a storm of Biblical proportions, the 28 golfers at Phoenix Gold were bathed in sunshine. When Phil departed after starting the 7 groups off, he called whilst driving back to the Links to say that he had just been passed by an Ark. No such calamities for our golfers who enjoyed perfect conditions on a perfect course. The golfers were assigned Mountain and Ocean 9`s

In the 70`s, Australia had a snooker player christened Steady Eddie Charlton. 50 years later they have a golfer christened Deadly Steady Dave Robinson. Dave, playing off a handicap of 11, was round in 6 over par for 41 points. Hot on his tail and claiming 40 points was another very steady player, Tony Cliff. Nick Aubin, playing off 7, was third with 38 points and he was followed by George Mueller and John `Stadler` Webbe.
