David Dunne was in despair a week ago after having lessons. We all know what happens when we have lessons?
Now, we are not sure if the lessons kicked in or, as he threatened, went back to the swing he was familiar with.
Whatever, it worked, and worked well, to enable David to play to his best with a great score of 42 points for a terrific win in the โ€˜Bโ€™ flight and overall.
Donal McGuigan is a member at Green Valley and usually comes to play with Links when we come here. He has done a great job on his โ€˜home courseโ€™ to score 38 points for second spot.
Young Min Ko has a habit of scoring big on one nine and then losing it on the other. His front nine today was 23 points and he hung on to third place with a total of 35 points.
Billy Buchanan not only snuck into โ€˜Bโ€™ flight, but snuck into fourth place on 33 points.
When you score 41 points at a gross of 75, you would think that would give you a win. Petur Petursson was right amongst it again, winning the โ€˜Aโ€™ flight, but he came up against a โ€˜hotโ€™ game from David Dunne in the contest for the โ€˜Jacketโ€™.
Glen Elsworth has worn the Green Jacket a couple of times recently and has kept up that good form with 37 points for the second place.
Lawrie McBride has had three games since returning to Thailand and has had his name in the winnerโ€™s lists on each occasion. Winning a countback on 36 points got him in there again, at third spot.
John Doyle was beaten in that countback but a fine game from the #8 handicapper.
There was another 36 points from Francis Goyons who missed a place, but took the โ€˜best front nineโ€™.

There were three Pattaya Societies to play this course today and our tee time was pushed back a half hour to 10.30 am.
As is often the case, we arrived at the tee early to find the society in front of us had almost all got away, so then, actually, our first group teed off just before 10.00 am. All well organized by the club starter.
