𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹l arrived back to Pattaya just over a week ago with a brand new knee replacement and it was time to test it out.
Three games before today with some very low stableford scores, at least by his standard, gave no hint of what was to come today at Laem Chabang.
On a golf course in it’s usual immaculate condition, and weather that was nearly perfect for golf, John had everything working, driver, irons, putter and the 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙚.
He hasn’t worn the Green Jacket since 2019 and, with a score of 40 points, this one fitted quite nicely.
Three very good scores of 38 points followed in behind John, and these had to be separated by countbacks.
Toby Glass has had scores that have had him higher up on the leaderboard recently, but not enough to be in the placings.
No doubt about it today, though, as he has won all the countbacks to take a deserved second place.
Steady Nick Aubin was in there again with his 38 points getting him third spot.
Brendan Kane carried on with his return to the form that had him at a handicap of #3 when he first came back to Links Golf.
He has taken the fourth place, having the remaining 38 points.

Laem Chabang was looking like a picture postcard and all parts of the course played very well.
The greens were a little slower at 8.5 and 8.6, but most handled them well, obviously the four leaders did.
The weather was overcast all day with a strong breeze, gusting at times, which seemed to keep the rain away, so everyone of our 22 players finished the round with dry clothes.
After the starter sent our first group away about twenty minutes early, and having no hold ups, all finished in good time.
