A week ago, playing with another Society, Irishman Derek Phillips scored 39 points so, if he maintained that form, he was a big chance of winning today.
He did exactly that by coming in with an excellent score of 41 points to take the win and, as near as we can figure, his ‘lucky’ thirteenth Green Jacket. Mind you, there have been a couple of ‘wigs’ and ‘silly hats’ along the way as well.
Now that another Irishman, Brendan Kane, has found his true form, there looks to be no stopping him. Today his 39 points backed on to his 39 points of two days ago, to enable him to jump into second spot here, on countback.
Nick Aubin is pretty steady and usually plays well with his low handicap. A sub handicap score of 39 points had him in third place after losing that countback to Brendan.
Selwyn Yates won two Green Jackets in the space of two weeks and has lost none of that form. Even though his handicap has come down, he has still come in under that handicap with a score of 38 points to grab fourth place.

This course is looking good with nicely cut fairways and the greens are still in good shape. Even though many had been lightly sanded, that didn’t affect the true roll of the ball.
The weather today was another hot one with little breeze, but no threat of rain.
Our six groups all got away early with the first two groups finishing in a tad under four hours, so it was back to Links mid afternoon.
While Phil is in Buriram for a couple days, Billy conducted the presentations.
