At our last visit to Green Valley, we asked the question ‘is GV so hard?’ as the scores for the two previous times had been so low.
Happily, today showed that, with some good golfing by players, it becomes more of the course we think it is.
Fair, challenging and the very good condition does enable good scores.
Thirty two players came out today and, after being given the okay to start 30 minutes early, things slowed a bit as there was a shortage of caddies at the time.
All solved quickly and away we went with most groups making good time.
Peter Kelly drops in for a game with Links on too rare occasions, but when he does, you know he is likely somewhere on the leaderboard.
As it was today, when Peter led the field with a very sound 38 points to grab another win at Links.
Bernard Courbe has been around for a month or so and has largely gone unnoticed, golf wise, although he is a friendly character. Today he has shown that he really is a #15 handicap by producing a good score of 37 points to finish in second place.
But it had to be a good 37 as there were two more players on that same score and had to be separated by countback.
Consistent John Chelo took third spot by winning the countback over Mick Fawke. Pretty good all round.
Keith Peplow held fifth place alone on 36 points.
The final two places again went to a countback where Chris Walsh was successful over an inspired Masa Ishikawa.

There was some dispute at the green fee office when the price asked for was higher than which we had three times been quoted. An extra 100 bht is not necessary on the already higher public holiday price.
Phil resolved things and the day went on.
