THE IRISH EYES ARE SMILING AGAIN

Friday was the last 2 man scramble of the year at Pattana and we had a massive turn out again and this has been a very popular event for the Links. We had 12 groups play B & A

The course was in decent condition but everywhere now is starting to look a bit burnt up.

That didn’t stop our players today and there were some impressive scores especially with the new format of 6 drives each and 2 par 3s each. It was the Irish Duo that claimed first place today…. John Doyle and Donal Coffey shot a nett 63 to win the final event of 2023

Second place went to my old pals Keith Griffith and Johnny Reps with a 64.5 which would normally be a winning score.

3rd place went to myself and Darren See with a 67.25. Darren is heading back to the Philippines again tomorrow to put the finishing touches to his new boat then sail it back to Thailand and we are all looking forward to some trips out with him.

4th place went to John Soo and Jonas Sigurson with a nett 68

5th was Captain Dave Heyes and Huw Philips with a 68.25.

It’s been a tough year for the Links with the loss of Phil Davies who was the heart and sole of this place and he will be missed forever.

It’s been great to have Joy back around the place these last few weeks and see lots of old faces return and also lots of new people as well. The pool nights have taken off so well on Monday and Friday nights

The support has been incredible and it keeps growing each week.

I’d like to thank everyone who has played golf or stayed at the Links this year and wish you all a very happy new year and your support appreciated so much 💙⛳️

Take care everyone see you next year
