GREAT DANE TRIUMPHS ON A LONG DAY AT EMERALD

The Links took 43 golfers to Emerald on Friday in what was our first visit to the course for about 18 months. Unfortunately, we were not the only society to turn up that day which led to a shortage of caddies and carts with players having to double on the carts and some pairings having to share a caddy. Although our first group set off at the allotted 10.30 tee time, by the time our last group teed off it was 12.15. It should be said that the majority of our golfers like the layout of Emerald and it is a challenging golf course. It should also be said that the Emerald management gave refunds to the golfers that had to double on the carts and were very apologetic about the situation. By the time the last bus had returned to The Links the sun was setting!

As for the golf, Soren Hansen was one of only 3 golfers who managed a par score of 36 points. Soren has been knocking on the door recently and today he gained entry. Soren triumphed over fellow B Flight player Tony Power and A Flighter Vito Cirelli on a count back. The Flights were 0-17 and 18+.
