Is Green Valley really that tough? We played here one month ago, before the rains came, and only one of 32 players was able to play to handicap.
Certainly, now, there has been rain on the course, and it did play long. However, apart from that, it is in good condition and the greens are right up to standard.
All players made hard work of it but it was Mick Fawke, after a long absence from Links Golf, who battled through to score the win with 34 points.
In second place was Andy Byrne, also back after a long time away, who won a three way countback on 32 points, to take second spot ahead of Lawrie McBride and Keith Griffith.
Mike Ehlert came in fifth with 31 points, but had a big day out, also collecting three of the four Near Pins.

The early morning rain in Pattaya caused concern for some and we had some drop outs.
We had a sheet with thirty players, but started with 25.
Conditions on the course were good with a light drizzle, which kept playing conditions in the comfort zone. After about half way, that drizzle stopped and there were no rain delays.
Playing lift, clean and place was certainly a good move.
A low scoring day, but a nice day to be on a tough golf course.
