Today at the beautiful Laem Chabang golf course, we arrived to find that we had been allocated the A and C combination, which added a bit more of a challenge for most, as C course has plenty of water carries.
Adding to the difficulty for some was that carts were not taken on fairways.
Richie McGhie is a #2 handicap golfer and proves that handicap correct almost every time he steps out with Links Golf.
In another near perfect display, the challenging course combination only added to the merit of his score of 36 points, which gave him the win in the ‘A’ flight and another Green Jacket photo op.
Once again it was Jamie Booterbaugh who, in a winning mood, has also scored 36 points after having already sealed a win a few days ago, but missed first spot today on countback.
Troy Haack is a newcomer to Links and made his presence felt by not only taking third place with 32 points, but add a ‘near pin’ to his tally.
Chris Barker played well for his 32 points and grabbed fourth place after losing the countback to Troy.
In the ‘B’ flight, it was ‘steady as she goes’ Tony Browne coming out on top with 33 points to beat George Mueller, who is having a small resurgence, in another countback situation.
Shane Thomason and Rick Tranter are also ‘newbies’ to Links, having joined us in the past week or so, and they filled the next couple of spots.
Shane had 30 points for third and Rick scored 29 points for the final place on the podium.

Our tee time had been brought forward as we added extra groups to our booking, but upon our arrival, the starters asked us to tee off even earlier again. A little juggle of groups by Billy got everyone away smoothly.
Needless to say, the course was in top notch condition again and the weather, although overcast, stayed dry, if a little warm for some.
The ‘B’ course here was closed for coring and sanding the fairways and greens. The ‘A’ course will be closed next, so we can look forward to tackling the C course for, possibly, our next trip here.
