Maybe it’s the time of year, weather wise, or the current uncertain situation, The attrition rate of drop outs and no shows seems to be more than usual, or is it just me?
Khao Kheow has been in very good condition recently, but just a little below standard today.
Let’s not be harsh, as there has been rain about and, in fact, it hammered down for what was the second nine for most groups. The fairways will get a cut asap, no doubt.
However, the greens were in their usual very good order and,as always, running truly.
Neil Smith may not be the classiest or the smoothest swinging golfer, but he can hit a good ball, and even putt a bit on a good day, so he tells us.
He did those things today with a great winning score of 39 points, good under any conditions at Khao Kheow.
Huw Phillips has lowered his handicap in the past couple of weeks and we can see why, as he has come in with 37 points from #11 handicap, to take second place.
Stuart Kidd, as stated previously, can run hot and cold. Today was more to the warmer end with a score of 35 points for third spot.
Then came the usual suspects, Jamie Booterbaugh won a countback on 33 points for fourth place, ahead of Michel Deletraz finishing fifth.
Lawrie McBride doesn’t miss a place often. 32 points got him into 6th. and Tony Brown scored 31 points for seventh place.
