This morning, as with many others unfortunately, was very quiet as we checked in with the starter at Greenwood Golf Club.
We were allocated the C and A combination and given the okay to start when ready.
With only two four-ballโs, the first group teed off 15 minutes early and, encountering not a single sole on course, finished the round in very quick time.
The weather was just about perfect for golf. High cloud and lots of blue sky, with a steady breeze all day which allowed thinking about golf, and not how hot it was.
The course is in tremendous condition in all facets. We did find the fairways a little damp, providing some โmud ballsโ in many places. However, carts were allowed on the fairways and there was good run once the ball went to ground.
The greens are just terrific, with good pace and playing truly, no excuses for missing putts.
As usual here, they can be a little damp around the fringe so trying to run the ball up is almost impossible. Over the top is best.
If we, actually, had more than one Green Jacket, ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ would be needing to buy a new cupboard in which to hang the many that he has won.
Another sound effort again with a score of 37 points for a good win.
Dave McKey plays sparingly and, with a couple of recent โJacketsโ and some placings, is playing consistent golf.
He made another second placing with a fine 36 points.
It was a countback for the third and final place on the podium.
After a great 43 points three days ago, Nigel Henson was in the mix again with a score of 34 points, but was just edged out in a countback for third place by John Anderson, who made a second appearance on the podium in three weeks. Something must be working!

2nd Place โ Dave McKey (20) – 36 pts
3rd Place – John Anderson (32) โ 34 pts c/back
It has been a very rare occasion when we have found this course not in very good condition and it is always a pleasure to take on any of the three nines.
