It was a different Laem Chabang course as, having some rain in recent days, including last night, the fairways were not cut as much, resulting in virtually no run.
The greens, however, were a different story. They were very quick which caught out many players trying to adjust, so there were tales of woe about the three and four putting.
All of this was reflected in the low scoring, with only one of the twenty- one starters playing to handicap.
Ron Dickie is a member at Laem Chabang and has only ever played with Links Golf when we play this course.
As a member, Ron has played here more than most and knows the course very well.
He used his knowledge to advantage to make a winning score of 36 points from his handicap of #7.
Gary Richardson plays with another group, so has only played a few times with Links. He is the only one of the four placings in the higher handicap range and has done well to score 34 points and take second spot.
Brendan Kane, back after a dose of Covid kept him out for a week or so, bounced right back to form with 33 points to grab third place on a countback.
Another rare visitor to Links, Derek Hutcheson, also scored 33 points but lost the countback to Brendan. He has held on to fourth place.

A nice change from the thunderstorm of last Friday saw an almost clear blue sky for most of the round today. It was hot, of course, but a gentle breeze at times made conditions comfortable.
We are already booked into this course for next month as we know we will get a good quality course for a good price.
