On a course in very good condition, cooler weather, with a nice breeze most of the day, the only player of the 32 starters to play to handicap and, obviously, not make hard work of it was Mr. Consistent, Francis Goyons.
Coming in with a score of 37 points, following on from a non winning score of 40 points ten days ago, gave Francis this win and another Green Jacket.
John Chelo followed up his win two days ago with another good score of 35 points to take second place on countback.
Jamie Booterbaugh has lost a couple of recent countbacks for ‘best nine’ and, although he lost this countback, he is pretty happy to be in third spot with a good score of 35 points.
It became a three way countback for the next places where Peter Kelly, with 34 points, had the best of the back nines’ to grab fourth, then Bob Paine was back on the podium after quite a while to finish fifth, and then George Mueller snuck into sixth spot with his 34 points.
And, would you believe? we actually went to a seventh place which was won by Billy Buchanan, on countback at 33 points.

As said, the course is in very good condition, but the bunkers are still waiting to be re-done with some ‘proper’ sand.
The greens, most but not all, were quite slick.
One ‘analyst’ was overheard to state that they were very fast on a downhill putt and slower putting uphill, mmm.
